How can it be a bad day when you surprise yourself with cash in your pocket? No matter how big or small the amount is, it still adds to your savings! Remember all the times that your literally “pocket money” saved your life this year! Is it when you were commuting? Ordering extra rice? Or impulsively buying from the store?

  1. Hearing your favorite song in public

Do you remember when everyone used to post “Music is life” as their captions or statuses? Well, try to recall that time when you thought your day couldn’t get any worse, when you were stuck in traffic, or when you were strolling in the mall, and your jam suddenly hit the radio. It was one of the best days! How can you possibly say that life is always against you?

  1. Giving in to your cravings

Sometimes it takes people weeks or months before they satisfy their cravings. It may be a craving for sushi, ice cream, pizza, milkshake, crab, or the itch to buy those shoes. Remember that one day that you gave in to your cravings. It felt soooo good that it sustained your happy mood meter for so long. Keep treating yourself once in a while. Life shouldn’t always be tough for you.

  1. Having food and clean water on your table

Do I have to break this down for you? Think of the millions of people who haven’t even tasted pizza. Not because they don’t want to, but because they don’t have the means. Come one, the kids in Africa who settle for mud cookies would love to have your life.

  1. Meeting the deadline

Who said school and work are easy? They are full of sleepless nights, loads of stress, and scoops of disappointments. But, they are not always a downfall for you. In fact, you stay in it because you have to and you want to. Both make your life a little bit hard, but at the same time, you benefit from them. What comes easy anyway? But ahhh, the satisfaction of being on the dot. You worked your ass off to meet the deadline and you deserve a pat on the back for that! Great job!

  1. Taking your shoes off after a long day

Capping off the night starts when you reach the front door and you take off your shoes. It comes with laying down all the pressure as you reach your bed. It’s one of the things that physically lets you know that you made it through the day and you’re okay.

  1. Waking up late on a weekend

Isn’t it nice to purposely not set your alarm because you don’t have work or classes the next day? You stayed up all night and did not worry of what time you had to wake up the following morning. Those weekends were little ways to comfort you and remind you that you are still completely human.

  1. Crying because you couldn’t take it

You cannot deny to yourself that crying relieves all your pain – physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. Looking back to this year, was it full of tears? If it was, then congratulate yourself! Crying should never be a sign of weakness. In fact, in an article written by Lizzette Borreli, experts say that it releases toxins, kills bacteria, improves vision, improves mood, relieves stress, and boosts communication. So give yourself a break, soldier! Nobody is made of steel anyway.
