Dreamworks production and the highly acclaimed director Steven Spielberg are bringing the fictional counter cyber terrorist manga to live.

Starring Scarlett Johansson who played the nasty Black Widow in the highly-anticipated Marvel movie, The Avengers: Age of Ultron will now portray the lead of the live-adaptation of Ghost in the Shell.

In an interview with Collider, Johansson confirmed that it is happening and the
Production will start January or February of next year with co-star Rupert Sanders.

Ghost in the Shell is about a cybernetic organism who attempted to bring down a despicable computer hacker known as the Puppet Master.
Although this news caused mixed reaction from the fans, some had positive views while others despise that a white woman will portray a Japanese character, Johansson is still excited and challenged about the role.

For over six years they have been developing this known Japanese media franchise which had its first movie adaptation directed by Mamoru Oshii in 1995. The Hollywood’s adaptation was said to be released in theatres on the 14th of April 2017.
